A week of painting with Jules

Whether you are a beginner or advanced: Jules works with each participant individually, shows the techniques and tricks of the great masters, and opens your eye to the landscape and to your own creative power.

We draw, paint, look at pictures and discuss our work together every day. You go home with small paintings, a sketchbook full of ideas and new knowledge – after a week full of art, good food and inspiration, in a warm, creative group.

How a day runs

  1. 01

    Morning talk

    One subject at a time – grey and tonal values, the green of trees, the blue of sky and clouds, composition and perspective. Practice follows straight away.

  2. 02

    Plein air

    Out into the landscape, the village, the market, with sketchbook and easel – a little more each day.

  3. 03

    The critique

    In the evening the day’s work hangs side by side and is discussed together. This is where you learn the most.

  4. 04

    The table

    Dinner together rounds off the day – in Grasse in the villa’s kitchen or in town.
